Helping horses and riders find saddles that fit,
avoiding common saddle shopping heartaches along the way!
Maggie’s commitment to putting the horse first shines brightly- horses need to be healthy, sound, and fit for riding prior to being fit for a saddle. The rider should be committed to making themselves an easy weight to carry for their horse. Yes! I happily work with clients no matter the budget, though you should know the budget may determine weather I can source a saddle for you to purchase. I encourage people to buy quality used when on a budget. While I do source used saddles for appointments, our appointment may not provide a saddle for you to purchase within budget, but it can help you narrow down what you want to look for to purchase, provide you with a template to take shopping with you, and gets your foot in the door for support and answers throughout the shopping process. With how easy the internet has made buying second hand, oftentimes this is the best way to get a deal on something that fits! Once you make a purchase, we recommend having an appointment to assess fit and make any fine adjustments that may be needed!

How exciting! First, I can help you by narrowing down which company you’d like to order from. All “custom” saddles are NOT created equal- there’s a big difference between a saddle with custom colors or tooling and a custom fit with a custom made tree, don’t be mistaken into buying something that doesn’t fit and can’t be returned or is harder to resell. I happily work with saddle companies to ensure we provide the them with all needed information and obtain measurements accurately for the company to make your saddle. I start each inquiry by evaluating recent photos of the horse, gaining information about the rider, goals, and budget of the pair.
I can source saddles for trial or assist you in sourcing them yourself- some riders choose to source options themselves because it allows for a longer trial period.
I start each appointment with a waiver, then chalk back mapping and anatomy review so you can gain a basic understanding of what were looking at. We then evaluate saddles you have before moving on to trial saddles.

Appointments are scheduled for 1.5 hours per horse/rider which generally gives us enough time to evaluate 2-3 saddles for both static and dynamic fit.

Western, English, treed, treeless, and multiple options that fall in-between those!

I began saddle fitting after years of training horses, disassembling and repairing saddles under my mentor's guidance, working with vets and rehabers, performing necropsies to study anatomy in depth, and when I couldn’t find anyone to assist my clients I took it upon myself to further my education to be able to assist those lesson clients into better saddles who then referred me to help others. My business has really blown up primarily via word of mouth in the last few years! I believe having a good understanding of what goes into both saddle construction and equine anatomy as well as rider biomechanics assists me in best fitting all of the shapes and structures together! I continue to dedicatee time every week to further my education and have trained with multiple brands to date!
